Sissi Westerberg

Sissi Westerberg received her MFA from the Department of Metal Craft and Jewellery at Konstfack in Stockholm in 2002. She has since taught as a visiting professor at the Rhode Island School of Design in the U.S. and a guest teacher at Konstfack in Sweden. Apart from her own design and art practice she has initiated collaborations between craft/design and art practitioners as one of the founders of "The LAND Contemporary Art Practices" http://landartpractices.org/. She has coordinated and co-curated the touring exhibition ”Beyond Adornment” (Gävle Konstcentrum, Landskrona Museum, Swedish Style – Tokyo, Platform Contemporary Art Center - Istanbul, MEO Contemporary Art Foundation - Budapest 2002-2004), as well as the interdisciplinary workshops “SITES” in Budapest 2004, "Fear And Adornmnet" in Cali, Colombia 2007, “Rejmyre Matters” in Rejmyre, Sweden 2007-2008 http://rejmyrematters.blogspot.com/ and “Nordic Artists Rethinking Souvenirs” Norway, Sweden, Finland 2007-2008 http://memoriesofthenorth.blogspot.com/. Since 2003 Sissi is a part of the art/craft/design collective S-U-B based in Stockholm http://www.s-u-b.se/.
